Forward-facing window seats are the only ones worth selecting. The four middle seats per row are notoriously poor — passengers climb over your legs to reach the aisle.
Airbus A380-800 — 2-4-2 (lower), 2-3-2 (upper) · Fleet-wide (retrofit pending)
Upper deck Club World is the only acceptable option — 2-3-2 layout means just one middle seat. Avoid lower deck unless you can't find an upper deck seat.
Boeing 777-200ER — 2-4-2 · ~50% remaining
Avoid the middle four seats per row at all costs. Window forward-facing seats are the only ones worth pre-selecting.
Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner — 2-3-2 · Fleet-wide
The 787-8 has the older 2-3-2 Club World, slightly less awful than 2-4-2 because there's only one middle seat. Window seats still strongly preferred.
